It was learned today that 3-time Seekonk Speedway Champion Don Dionne of Warwick RI passed away on Tuesday, January 5th. Don was a long time fan favorite at Seekonk, where he picked up over 30 wins in a career that spanned over 25 years. Don won his first race on September 23, 1967 in the B division. His final win came on July 15, 1989, in John Tyler's Sound Marine Special.

His first championship came in 1970 in the B division. In 1979, he became the very first Pro Stock Champion, driving for the Manfredo Brothers. He followed that up in 1981, with his second Pro Stock title.

At this time, arrangements have not been announced. We will update as soon as possible.
